Welcome Letter

Picture
Dear Friends,

Thank you for your interest in St. Jerome Early Childhood Center.  Established
in 1990,, St. Jerome ECC has been blessed to serve the families of our parish and surrounding communities. God has been so good to us!  We have been blessed with faith-filled dedicated teachers and staff. Our families are involved and supportive of our efforts, as we seek to provide the best possible early childhood program for children ages 2-5.  As the only nationally accredited (NAEYC) Catholic educational program in Pinellas County, the environment we provide is one of the highest quality, as we serve the needs of the whole child – physically, socially, emotionally, academically and most importantly, spiritually.  First and foremost, St. Jerome ECC is a Catholic school, one where the presence of Christ is known in our words and in our actions.

.Our preschool children are more than well-prepared for their educational and spiritual journey when they leave St. Jerome ECC for kindergarten.  We continue to hold each one in prayer. We are humbled and honored to have been chosen as their first step out into the world. We know that God will be with them on their journey and we ask for God’s blessing as we continue our work in His Name.

Sincerely in Christ,
Phyllis Steele, Administrator
St. Jerome Early Childhood Center

Prayer
O God, we entrust ourselves to you during these times.
Keep us safe, and give us the grace
to be generous to one another and to be courteous
and kind to everyone in our lives.
Help us to recognize when we are getting on each others nerves,
to know when reconciliation is necessary,
and to be conscious of each other’s needs.

Our COVID-19 Response and Re-Opening Plan has been designed. Our Taskforce meets frequently to address new concerns in this ever-changing pandemic situation. Be assured that we will offer the safest and healthiest setting for your children while maintaining a high quality, developmentally appropriate learning environment. Many precautions have been put in place to guard against the transmission of the coronavirus. We are optimistic that our plans give families the opportunity to return to school with peace of mind. We pray that God continue to guide our decisions and protect us from all harm. This comprehensive plan will be emailed to registered families on July 20, 2020. Our revised Handbook will be available on August 4, 2020.
Check our INFORMATION tab above for the Handbook and related documents.

Tractor Process ArtThis is a process art project, meaning the focus is on the process of creating art rather than an end product. This type of art is perfect for preschoolers. It allows them to be creative without worrying if they made their project the correct way.
For this project, children will use mud paint. We used mud paint because it looks like tractor tracks. You can also use tempera paint, if you want to create a more colorful look. from Teaching Mama for Pre-K

New Security Film Installed

On Friday, March 29, 2020 security film was installed on all of the ECC windows to guard against hurricane strength winds and to provide added protection from possible intruders. This project was funded by a grant from the White Family Foundation. It was completed by Custom Window Graphics. We are very happy to offer an even safer environment for our students when they return.
